Treasure hunters are destroying an ancient bridge in the Smolyan region village of Borino , radio Focus- Smolyan reported. The bridge dates back to the Roman period. Its most recent renovation took place under the Ottoman rule. Treasure hunters have been digging its foundations over a long period of time and the bridge is currently in poor condition. The Devil Bridge is located in West Rhodope Mountain between the Yagodinska cave and Borino in the Haidushki dol district. It is also called Roman Bridge, as some of the explorers date it to the Roman Ages. Travel: About 200 tourists visit Yagodina cave daily

Yagodina cave in the Rhodopi mountains has always been interesting for tourists because it is rich in formations. In the summer the cave is visited by more tourists – approximately 150-200 a day, the cave curator Sergey Genchev told Focus – Smolyan Radio.
He noted that more tourists arrived at weekends. The active season includes July, August and September. The tourist guides in the cave take a one-month training course.

The constructions of a highway in the Rhodopes will start in the few months. This was reported by the vice minister of development Dimcho Mihalevski. The highway will go through Gotse Delchev - Dospat - Borino - Devin - Smolian - Madan - Kurdjali and will shorten with hundred of kilometers the current round route through Borovetz resort .
