The Anevo Kale fortress is located some 3.5 km north from the village of Anevo , Sopot municipality , Central Bulgaria. It is one of the most majestic Medieval mountain fortresses in Bulgaria. It was built on a rocky summit in Stara Planina, which is very hard to access. A road cut into the stones leads to the fortress.
