A new installation for production of fuels will be opened on February 19 by Insa Oil LTD ( town of Rakovski ). The facility is a type of desulfurizer and applies the most modern technology for production of fuels with minimal sulfur content. Bulgarian producer and trader in petroleum products Insa Oil LTD ( Rakovski ) will invest EUR 25 mln in the first of its kind modern Bulgarian installation for highest-class fuel production. Brunata, the Bulgarian unit of Danish exporter of flexible solutions for individual billing of costs for heating and water, said it will spend 3.0 mln levs on the construction of a plant room assembly plant in the industrial zone of the southern town of Rakovski . Orinoco-D, a Bulgarian furniture maker based in the town of Rakovski, said it is launching a project for a chain of hypermarkets for office and home furnishings under the brand Interra. The first outlet will open in September in the Plovdiv area, said Orinoco-D manager Georgi Gidishki. The three-level store has a total build area of 6,000 sq m and cost 2 mln levs. The Interрa chain will carry items produced by Orinoco-D as well as the offerings of foreign furniture makers.

ABB, the global engineering company, said it will start the construction of a $20 mln plant for low-voltage products in the Bulgarian city of Rakovski. The plant, the group`s third in Bulgaria, should be operational in `09. The plant site will have an area of 2.0 ha. The project will create around 500 jobs. 400 textile workers from the Greek-owned garment factory Intex 99 in the town of Rakovski (near Plovdiv ) have gone on strike for higher salaries and better work conditions.
