A 25-year-old Bulgarian driver was arrested around 10 a.m. Saturday morning by the traffic police at the town of Karlovo in the central part of the country after the field test showed he had 3,6 promiles of blood alcohol content. Another man, aged 50, was caught with 2,11 promiles of blood alcohol content in the nearby town of Kalofer.

Bulgaria marks Monday the 132 anniversary of the death of one of the most prominent Bulgarians - the publicist, poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev, who gave his life for Bulgaria`s independence.

27-year-old Damyan Dimitrov from Sofia was found dead on Thursday evening. Rescuers have been searching for him since Sunday when he got lost in Bulgaria’s Stara Planina mountain /Balkan Mountains/, the press center of the Municipality of Karlovo told. Rescuers from the towns of Karlovo, Sopot, Kalofer, Plovdiv and Sofia participated in the operation. Dimitrov and two other men participated in a winter mountain contest. Damyan, however, was fatigued and did not have an appropriate outfit. He left the group to wait for rescuers. Due to the bad weather and snowdrifts the rescue teams could not reach the place where Dimitrov was. The search continues on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Damyan was found dead on Thursday.
