| Some 20 companies have based production and logistics operations in the Rakovski industrial zone, near Plovdiv. The zone provides employment to 500 people from the area. Manufacturers have occupied 60 ha in the zone and will be allocated a further 30 ha. One of the first tenants was William Hughes, a UK maker of coiled springs. German discount retailer Kaufland has picked the zone to host its national logistics center. The company recently opened a storage facility in Rakovski and plans two further facility additions. |

| This year`s edition of the annual international fair in Plovdiv looks much like a yacht port: more than 10 modern vessels have already been displayed at it. They are a part of the exhibits which will be promoted at the new specialized exposition for yachts, boats, water sports and equipment. The exhibition is included in the 28th spring fair for consumer goods and technologies which starts on Monday. Nine hundred and fifty four companies from 36 countries take part in the forum; 654 of them are Bulgarian firms. |

| Bulgaria is losing 2 billion leva (1 billion euros) a year from traffic jams, the Energy Efficiency Agency reported. All citizens of Sofia and other big cities lose at least an hour a day in hellish traffic. If we spent this time at work instead, the GDP would increase by BGN 1.2 billion. To this figure we add the fuel waste, which totals BGN 600 million. We waste 200 tons of gas a day, which harms the environment. Drivers in Sofia do not obey the Law on Traffic and drive their cars in the bus lanes. Thus public transport vehicles waste fuel worth tens of millions. This figure isn’t included in the global loss of BGN 2 billion. |
