Bulgarian copper mining company Asarel Medet will invest at least BGN 3 mln in the construction of a sports hall in the town of Panagyurishte where it is based. The company signed a public-private partnership agreement with the town located in southern Bulgaria for the building of a multi-purpose sports hall. The Krasen Kale fortress is situated about 3 km away from the village of Buta , Pazardjik region , and some 10 km south of the town of Panagyurishte . Specialists think it was built in X century. Currently, visitors can see many well-preserved parts of the fortress, including buildings, fortress walls and extant waterkeepers (shterni). There are also remains of inner and outer walls.

The memorial house dedicated to Bulgarian revolutionary Raina Kniaginia will be renovated, radio Focus- Pazardzhik reported. Panaghiurishte municipality will provide 15 000 leva for the renovation works. The birth house of the revolutionary was built in the 18th century. It turned into a museum in 1950. A coin from the time of Ivan Sratsimir was discovered during excavation works in the region of Panagyurishte , radio Focus-Pazardzhik reported. The coin dates back to 1395 and proves that Krasen fortress was captured only one year before the Ottoman conquest in Bulgaria. Archaeologists also discovered the seal of one of the last rulers of the fortress. A Virgin Mary icon was also found nearby.

Bulgarian open pit copper miner Asarel Medet completed the installation of a waste water treatment facility. An antiseep screen and a gravity pipeline have been put in place to carry drainage water to the western part of an embankment at the site of the Panagyurishte-based company. The World Bank will extend EUR 81 million for the upgrade of municipal infrastructure in Bulgaria under an agreement approved by the government on Thursday. The Panagyurishte Golden Treasure is a rare archaeological monument from the Hellenistic Age and one of the symbols of the Panagyurishte region . It was found near the Mramor hillock in 1949 during agricultural work. The trasure consists of nine richly adorned vessels - an amphora, seven rhytons and a phial. It weighs 6.164 kg.
