The government has terminated two contracts for the concession of mineral water because companies did not pay their contributions to the state for a year and a half. One contract was concluded with Quadrant Beverages JSC for part of the mineral water from drilling in Belovo field. The second contract was signed with Benabra JSC managing the field Bratsigovo . According to data of the environmental ministry for 2010 Benabra owes the state USD 60 240 fee that has not been paid....

Today (12 May) is the Bratsigovo official holiday. This date is related with the April Uprising from 1876. At the beginning of May the Uprising in the IV-th Revolutionary District was suppressed and drowned in blood. The leaders of the Uprising who survived the slaughters headed to the Balkan Mountains. On May 12 after being betrayed, Georgi Benkovksi was killed in the Teteven Balkan. It was only Bratsigovo of all insurgent Rhodope towns that survived the massacre.

The Pazardjik municipal council has given the go-ahead to an EU-funded 12.6 mln euro project for a solid household waste disposal site. It will be located in the village of Aleko Konstantinovo and will service the municipalities of Pazardjik, Peshtera, Belovo, Bratsigovo, Septemvri, Lesichevo, Rakitovo, Batak and Velingrad. The cost of the project also includes 1.864 mln euro for a facility that will extract from the waste recyclable materials.
