The Bulgarian and Turkish governments will resume the construction of the Gorna Arda hydro power complex and the Tundja dam lake in a bid to stop the flooding suffered by the city of Edrine every time the river of the same name overflows. | Strong winds on January 28 left 21 villages in the eastern Rhodope region in Bulgaria without electricity, Civil Protection directorate in Kurdjali announced. Repairs were being made in the municipalities of Kurdjali, Ardino, Kroumovgrad and Kirkovo, Bulgarian news agency BTA said. |
