If you are looking for the serenity of rural idyll, warm Rhodopi hospitality, the scent of the freshly backed cheese pastry and the taste of real homemade yogurt, then one of the most suitable places for your summer vacation is the lovely village of Gorno Pole tucked in the heart of Eastern Rhodopi Mountains. Here, one is able to enjoy perfect silence disrupted only by the songs of warbles and the play of the wind in tall grass.
Before one`s eyes, beautiful landscapes open with endlessly rolling hills and lush grasslands where cattle graze. Arda River slowly makes its way south forming fascinating meanders. At the same time, there is no threat of boredom settling in because locals offer a lot of attractions such as wild horse dressage and lassoing, cow milking, looking for bee hollows in the woods and rides in horse-drawn carriages in the village.
"Our village borders nature reserves from all sides where rare animal and plant species live," says Blagovesta from Wild Farm ranch.
For the past 10 years and together with her husband Niki, she`s been involved in breeding two endangered Bulgarian breeds of cattle - the gray cow and the Rhodopi short-horned cow.
