EUR 200 million for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects

The Bulgarian government will dish out EUR 200 million among renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in 2010, said deputy economy minister Evgeni Angelov. The funding will come under operational programme Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy that should be approved by the monitoring committee by the end of November.

A total of EUR 107.8 million of the cash pot has been earmarked for energy-saving initiatives. Applications could be submitted after October 2010. A further EUR 97.9 million will be channeled to renewable energy investments.
