The commercial banks are preparing to request financial aid from the Bulgarian National Bank. During talks with finance minister Dyankov on Wednesday, representatives of the banking sector will ask the national bank to reduce the rate of the mandatory minimum reserves, so as to ease the pressure on commercial banks.

The reason lies in PM Borissov and Vice-PM Dyankov`s appeal to the banks to decrease the bank interests. The condition that the banks should make 10 concrete proposals for cheaper credits was negotiated at the first meeting which was held last week.

Each of the finance institutions had several days to consider its offers and the measures that are to be proposed at a sitting of the bank association today.
