United Bulgarian Bank has won the "Bank of the Year 2008" award in a traditional contest, organized by the prestigious local financial Pari Daily. This is the twelfth time that the newspaper selects Bank of the Year in an effort to encourage the financial institutions to work for the progress of Bulgaria`s economy.
The President of Bulgaria, Georgi Parvanov, will personally present the award Wednesday evening at a ceremony in Grand Hotel Sofia.
In the different categories, the winner for market share is Unicredit Bulbank. MKB Unionbank got the prize for dynamic development, while the Bulgarian-American Credit Bank is the most efficient one.
The Pari Daily readers determine First Investment Bank as the one with the best service, thus making FIB for the fourth time Bank of the Client.
For the first time in the history of the contest, there was an award for the best foreign bank branch office. It was taken by Alpha Bank - Bulgaria.
In the conditions of global financial and economic crisis, the Pari Daily decided to give a special award to the governing committee of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) for its contribution to the stability of the Bulgarian bank system.
