Bulgaria banks offer new deposit promotions

Sofia. For three consecutive days, six Bulgarian financial institutions, namely – First Investment Bank, SG Expressbank, ProCredit Bank, Alpha Bank, EIBank and DSK Bank, presented new deposit promotions, The Pari Daily informs.

First Invetment Bank’s three-month Golden deposit provides record returns of 9.75% for savings in both BGN and EUR. This is the highest rate of fixed interest offered on the market during the last trimester.

ProCredit Bank offers a new three-month deposit with annual interest of 7% in BGN and 5.5% in EUR. The promotion will be valid until February 28 2009. The institution also extends its deposit campaign for standard one-month, six-month and annual deposits in BGN. The promotional extra interest of 0.5% on deposits with such terms will be granted till the end of February. Thus the one-month standard deposit in BGN will be offered with an annual interest of 4.5%, the six-month with 5.75% and the annual with 7%.

EIBank prolonged the promotion term for its SI-Major six-month deposit product with increasing levels of interest that may reach 9.5% for BGN and 7.5% for EUR. The minimum sum for opening this type of deposit is BGN 1000(EUR 500).

DSK Bank is conducting a promotional campaign for newly-contracted deposits for 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. The promotional percent of profitability, depending on the deposit term, varies between 5.1% and 8.8% for BGN and 4.6% and 6.8% for euro-denominated deposits.

Socete Generale Expressbank offers a termless saving account called Horizons providing clients with an annual interest rate of 8% in BGN and 5% in EUR.

Alpha Bank – branch Bulgaria reminds the term for joining its promotional lottery campaign expires 31 January. Taking part in the lottery, clients may win 10 prizes of BGN 10 000 each.
