The republican roads are passable under winter conditions. The temperatures countrywide vary between –10 to –1 °C. The weather is cloudy and quite. Road surface is wet and slippery with ice in the highlands.

It is snowing in the districts of Varna, Dobrich, Razgrad, Ruse, Shumen, Targovishte, Silistra, Stara Zagora.

The visibility is low due to fog of 50 to 100 meters in the district of Smolyan, up to 150 meters in the region of Kyustendil and along Hemus motorway. The road surfaces are snow-covered and partially iced.

The authorities in charge are cleaning up and sanding the troubled areas. The following passages are closed: Etropole-Zlatitsa, Tvarditsa-Elena, Troyan-Karnare, and Varbitsa passage.

The traffic at the border checkpoints is normal.
