Banks raise interest rates on both loans and deposits

Banks in Bulgaria have kept on increasing accruement rates on their deposit accounts throughout July, so that they could woo more of people’s savings. This upward trend has been tangible in the case of deposits in BGN and EUR, a survey of Moite Pari reveals, The 24 chasa Daily reported.

ProCredit Bank has reportedly put up its interest rates on term deposits in EUR and BGN. The bank’s standard 12-month term deposit in local currency now accumulates a 6.50 interest instead of 6.25% before.

Piraeus Bank followed suit, its product interest rates also edging up, and the same happened with what Raiffeisenbank offers in this segment.

Moite Peri reports of a new increase in mortgage loans costs – both in terms of raising interest rates and updating fees and commissions.

Eurobank EFG has revised its interest on old debts. Interest rates of Eurobank EFG loans in EUR and CHF have gone up by 0.50%, while the bank’s interests on local currency debts have increased by 0.75%.

Among the other players that have increased their loan interest rates are Societe Generale Expressbank, Investbank, Raiffeisenbank and UniCredit Bulbank.
