Flights from Russia canceled over long waiting for visas: travel agents

Three flights from Russia have already been canceled due to the long waiting for Bulgarian visas. This will definitely affect tourists negatively, Lyubomir Pankovski, member of the Bulgarian Association of Travel Agencies told.

“The Bulgarian Association of Travel Agencies opposes the conclusion of outsourcing contracts with companies that will be bale to issue visas for Russian tourists. The Association believes that the foreign ministry’s resource and experience from previous years have not been used, and the visas for Russian citizens were introduced in 2002. The easiest way to sign a contract is being sought, at that with one company only, which will process the documents of Russian tourists, without taking into consideration the fact that visas will become more expensive and there is no competition,” Pankovski said.

According to him this is not to the benefit of the tourist sector and facilitation of Russian citizens’ travels to Bulgaria.
