Russian Tourists Stand in Line for Bulgarian Visas

Russian tourists who decided to choose Bulgaria for their summer vacation stand before serious and unexpected problem in Bulgaria`s consulate. Huge queue that starts in 4.00h in the morning before the Embassy puts under threat the summer rest of the Russians, informed Irina Tiurina, press secretary of the Tourism Chamber union in Russia.

All this set up nervous situation that escalate to physical fights, Tiurina said.

The saddest is that already there are cases of tourist firms that couldn`t enter their documents at all. The phone number of the visa service is engaged all the time.

Representatives of the tourism companies believe that the lines are after the many property purchases by Russians in Bulgaria.

The number of the Russian tourists in Bulgaria is rising stably. If in 2005 there were 120,000 Russians who arrived on vacation in the country, in 2006 they were 148,300 and last year - 173,000.
