Italy returns a treasure confiscated 3 years ago from 2 Vratsa families

Berlusconi will send to Bulgaria more than 3000 ancient coins and bronze statuettes. The antiques valued at 36 500 euros, were confiscated three years ago from two families from the town of Vratsa. The National Investigation Service informed "The Standart" that now Italy would return the treasure to Bulgaria. About January 15 at the latest the head of National Investigation Service Boyko Naydenov, Rumen Vasilev - the examining officer in charge of the case investigation and Bozhidar Dimitrov - director of the National Museum of History will leave for Italy to receive the valuable objects.
They managed to prove that the ancient objects were unearthed in northwestern Bulgaria. The Italian government agreed to return the treasure, which will happen at an official ceremony most probably in January. When the coins and the statuettes are brought back to Bulgaria, local experts would evaluate them once again.
