Milk producers from the region of Vratza in the northwest of Bulgaria announced Wednesday they are heading for Sofia along with their animals to protest against the government`s policy in the sector.

Main road E-79 will be blocked Wednesday by protesting milk producers from the entire district, Focus News Agency’s correspondent reported. According to a milk producer from the village of Borovan, Evgeni Chervenyashki, about 1,000 people from the 10 municipalities in the district will take to the streets. Farmers insist that the state should allot a subsidy of EUR 100 million to assist them in feeding their animals.
