For four consecutive year Holcim Bulgaria JSC, based in the village of Beli Izvor (Vratsa municipality), won the highest recognition Leader in Industry by Dow Jones Index for sustainable development. The Swiss company Holcim bought 10 years ago the cement plant in Beli Izvor for EUR 38.5 million. The privatization transaction is considered one of the most successful not only in the region but also in the country. The cement company has invested in the old plant EUR 108 million.

The young man suffered severe injuries after a 30-metre fall in the factory and doctors could not save him. Authorities are still investigating the accident.[1] [2]
