| Regional governor of Vratsa Dr Antonio Georgiev held a work meeting with Executive Director of National Snail Breeding Cluster Rusi Rusev and Managing Director Petya Azmanova, FOCUS News Agency informs. They were in Vratsa to present to the respective institutions business opportunities for landowners. The country is developing a program for boosting snails breeding business hence the creation of the National Snail Breeding Cluster. Projects under the program may apply for financing by EU. It was pointed out that there was much profit in such farms. |

| An Italian-Bulgarian joint venture has launched a new polypropylene and polyethylene pipe extruding plant in the Bulgarian city of Vratsa . A new factory for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene pipes was opened Thursday in the city of Vratsa in northwest Bulgaria. The name of the enterprise is Himiplast JSC, and it is a joint project of the Italian company Chimicom, and its Bulgaria partner Himremontstroy. The high tech assembly lines of the factory were produced by the Italian firm Plasco. The manufacturing process is completely automated, and the firm also offers all services covering the installation of its products. All of the factory products are environment-friendly and recyclable. The projected profits for the first year are EUR 4 B. The enterprise employs 20 persons, and plans to hire more in the future. |

| Bulgarian company Chimremontstroy said it has teamed up with Italian partner Chimicom to open a plant for polyethylene and polypropylene pipes in Vratsa, North-western Bulgaria. The partnership has so far invested over 2 mln levs in the new Chimiplex plant, due to be inaugurated after Apr 10 following the successful testing phase, with a further 1 mln levs to be spent by the year-end. The facility, is located on a 0.5 ha land patch bought from chemical company Chimco, has an hourly capacity of 300 to 450 kg of pipes. |

Theatre and dance performances, opera staging, rock concerts, movie shows, expositions will be entered in the festival program of Russian Culture in Bulgaria. The fest will be opened on April 8 with a performance of the Yekaterinburg theatre for contemporary dances. In the event`s frames will also take part artists from Moscow`s art academy theatre and State academic theatre Novosibirsk. The festival will occur in parallel in several Bulgarian cities except Sofia - Ruse, Pleven, Blagoevgrad, Vratsa, Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas. |

| A 19-year-old worker in a cement plant in the northwestern village of Beli Izvor died late Friday in an accident, authorities reported. The young man suffered severe injuries after a 30-metre fall in the factory and doctors could not save him. Authorities are still investigating the accident. |

The district heating company in Vratsa, North-western Bulgaria, will switch to an alternative type of fuel before the next heating season, said production director Angel Angelo. The company wants to mitigate the effect of rising domestic gas prices. The utility opted not to adjust its heating tariffs after the last two hikes in gas prices. It will instead increase the price of its electricity output after the end of the current heating season. |

| A 17-year-old teenager was stabbed in a fight over girl in Bulgaria`s northwestern town of Vratza, authorities reported. According to the police, the attacker, who is also 17-year-old, stabbed the victim in the back and continued to beat the helpless boy after he fell on the ground. Doctors reported the teenager`s life is already out of danger but said the wound was very serious and operation was required. Investigation has been launched on the case. |
