Culture: Unique perfume box from III century discovered near Mezdra

Archaeologists discovered a unique perfume box in the region of Kaleto near Mezdra . The perfume is nearly 18 centuries old, Bulgarian national private channel bTV reported. Renovation of the finding shows that the box protected various types of grasses and wood bark. These scents were typical for the Roman Empire. The finding is unique even outside the borders of Bulgaria, archaeologists said. A similar container has been discovered only in France, but it served completely different purpose.

Bulgarian archaeologists have found a 1700-year-old perfume in the locality Kaleto (the Fortress) near the town of Mezdra ( northwestern Bulgaria ). In a bronze container they discovered a piece of wood. Archaeologists discovered a medieval lead stamp in the region of Gradishteto near Vratsa , Darik Radio reported. The archaeological season in the region has already began. Work on an eco path leading to the region started. Findings were made while work on the eco path was ongoing. According to team leader Nartsis Torbov, the unique combination of culture and nature will bring many tourists to the region.

A unique sanctuary dating back to 4,500 year BC was unearthed during excavations at the Kaleto locality near Mezdra ( north-western Bulgaria ). Culture: Festival of Russian Culture in Bulgaria

Theatre and dance performances, opera staging, rock concerts, movie shows, expositions will be entered in the festival program of Russian Culture in Bulgaria. The fest will be opened on April 8 with a performance of the Yekaterinburg theatre for contemporary dances. In the event`s frames will also take part artists from Moscow`s art academy theatre and State academic theatre Novosibirsk. The festival will occur in parallel in several Bulgarian cities except Sofia - Ruse, Pleven, Blagoevgrad, Vratsa, Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas.
