Bulgarian experts are explicit and unanimous in their opinion that the nuclear units in Kozloduy are twice safer than the damaged ones in Japan. Firstly, because they are quite newer and have been provided with better security and protection systems. Secondly, the Bulgarian NPP has no chance of undergoing the hell that has struck Japan for the last few days, at least because Kozloduy is situated thousands of kilometres away from the shores of the largest ocean on Earth.

Italian engineering company OMS Saleri Eastern Europe plans to invest EUR 15 million in the construction of a ball valves plant near the northeastern town of Vratsa , the town authorities said. On Thursday, the company`s owner, Jacopo Rocca, and Vratsa`s mayor, Kostadin Shakhov, signed a contract for the land plot for the future plant. For three months workers in the Mezdra -based beer factory Ledenika have not received salaries, alarmed by the CITUB. Now there are 200 employees in the factory and the average monthly wage is about BGN 400. Workers have not received salaries since October. By contrast, they received bonuses for Christmas and New Year - a total of about BGN 300 per person. The company has already begun to pay the salaries for October... This is the only operating factory in the region.

Business: Brewer Ledenika Mezdra must pay BGN 120,000 in excise duties

Bulgarian brewer Ledenika ( Mezdra ) will be able to bottle produced quantities if it pays BGN 120,000 in excise duties, the Customs Agency said. The company was stripped of its beer production licence by the customs authorities at the end of February after a surprise check.
