A 67-year-old man with a criminal record has stabbed a police officer in the stomach in a fight in Bulgaria`s village of Makresh on Tuesday. The injured official was immediately hospitalized. His life is out of danger, doctors reported. The incident occurred after the policeman tried to help a female fellow-villager, who was attacked by the stabber in her own house. The criminal was detained for 24 hours in the local police station.
