According to data by the regional inspectorates on education as of 10.30 on January 8, 2009 the education process has been stopped in 75 schools in the country. 13 schools in Sofia will have no classes, in Sofia municipality - 8 schools. Because of the cold 3 schools in Plovdiv and Pleven have been shut down. Most students will stay at home in Pazardzhik . 30 schools in the town have already stopped the education process. The 4 high-school students of the Bulgarian team that participated in the 20th World Informatics Olympiad in Cairo, Egypt (August 10 - 23, 2008) are all getting back with medals - two silver and two bronze: Momchil Tomov (Shumen, silver); Rumen Hristov (Pleven, silver); Stefan Avramov (Veliko Turnovo, bronze) and Martin Martinov (Pleven, bronze).
