| The salaries in Sofia for June are 30% higher than the remunerations in Bulgaria`s second largest city of Plovdiv, it transpired from a report of the Industry Watch. Following Sofia, the private firms in Varna and Bourgas offer the best-paid jobs. The lowest salaries are registered in the towns of Vratsa, Vidin and Montana. But the lower cost of living in these towns makes up for the low wages. |

| Monbat, the Bulgarian producer of batteries for the automotive industry, has lent 1 mln euro to its Serbian subsidiary of the same name. The loan should be repaid at an interest of 8% by the end of `09. The resource is provided for the completion of a batteries recycling plant that the Serbian unit is building. The managing board of the Bulgarian company also announced a 10,000 euro cash contribution to the capital raise that will be performed by Monbat Recycling, the Romanian unit of the battery maker. |

| Environment Minister Djevdet Chakurov opened the new refuse depot in the Black Sea town of Sozopol and is expected to attend the groundbreaking of a new water treatment station in second biggest Black Sea city of Bourgas on June 10. Sozopol`s refuse depot was built using funds allocated under the European Unions preaccession aide programme Ispa and is part of a project approved in 2000. The project also includes the construction of new landfills in Silistra, Montana, Sevlievo and Rousse, and a station in Kiten Black Sea resort, the Ministry of Environment and Water Affairs MOEW said in a media statement. |

| The car automobile traffic along the road II-81 Petrohan – Berkovitsa is redirected through another section due to repair works, the district road infrastructure department in the town of Montana told. The rehabilitation of the water supply grid near the village of Barzia, Montana district, is the reason for the traffic to be redirected through roads IV-81204 and III-812 Berkovitsa-Varshets – from the road fork leading to the Yagodovo village, near the Chapraza area. Signals and road signs have been put in the section. The changes would be in force till June 7th when the repair works are due to finish. |
