Dozens of Roma from several Bulgarian towns will undergo IT training within a pilot project, launched Tuesday by the State Agency of Information Technologies and Communications. The project, called Integration of Minority Groups, is to be developed in the towns of Lom, Montana, Dryanovo, Blagoevgrad and Stara Zagora, the agency`s Chairman Plamen Vachkov said. Among the abilities to be developed are ordinary computer and expert programme training. The course of education will last for six months, ending with an examination. The Roma, who manage to pass it will be given special certificates.

About 40 towns and villages in the region of Gabrovo in Bulgaria are without electricity as a result of power lines disconnected by the strong wind in the area, the Bulgarian Natural Disaster Management Ministry announced for FOCUS News Agency. According to the information eight villages in the region of Montana and another eight in the region of Razgrad are also with no electric power.

Monbat, the Bulgarian car batteries maker, said profit came in at 19.42 mln levs with sales at 144 mln levs in 2007, beating earlier company estimates.
The final 2007 figures are 16.99% and 9% higher than the full-year guidance given in November last year. In year-on-year comparison, profit doubled while sales rose over 83%, the company said in a filing with the Bulgarian stock exchange.

Spanish company Ferry Group said it plans to invest over 500 mln euro in two projects in Bulgaria.
The first project is the Katina Sports Center near Sofi a while the second is the planting of 8,000 ha of biomass-producing vegetation in the Vidin , Montana and Lom regions.
Both projects have earned the Spanish First Class Investor certificates from InvestBulgaria Agency, the local investment promotion authority.
