| Local beer sales reached 4.79 mln hectoliters in June 1, 2007 to May 31, 2008, shows data released by the Union of Bulgarian Brewers (UBB). Heineken-owned Zagorka topped the review period with 1.697 mln hectoliters in sales, followed by Kamenitza with 1.52 mln and Carlsberg Bulgaria with over 1.424 mln. | All 250,000 shares in local brewer Lomsko Pivo were snapped up by investors Thu in 21 bourse transactions. The 5.6% stake raised 1.3 mln levs in proceeds. The shares were offloaded by majority owner Agroinvest Engineering which is in turn owned by engineering company Enemona. This is the third disposal of Lomsko Pivo shares. In `07 Agroinvest sold a total of 40% of the capital. At the time, it was announced that a strategic investor will be sought for the remaining 60%. Enemona recently confirmed it was on track to cash out of the beer maker. |

The level of the Danube river at the Bulgarian town of Novo selo this morning raised with 43 cm, informed the Executive agency for exploration and maintenance of the Danube river. Around Vidin the raising was with 20 cm with the river reaching the level of 560 cm. The raising at Lom is less – with 6 cm. Two Vidin islands – Bezimen and Maluk bliznak - are already under water and the island of Koshava is expected to be flooded soon. |
