The port of Lom  may turn into a bridge between the heart of Europe and the Aegean Sea. The Danube river port of Lom has a potential to become a transport hub and to take containers of Thessaloniki Port which are loaded on small vessels sailing along the Danube river and reach Dresden and Budapest. Chinese investors have shown interest in our four ports, said the Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology Kamen Kichev. These are the sea ports in Varna and Burgas and river ports in Rousse and Lom , but it was not specified exactly in which port the foreign capital will enter. Next week a team of Transport Ministry is going on a visit to China, where the overall strategy for concessioning of ports, airports and railway stations will be presented.

Accidents: Dangerous increase of Levels of Danube river

Level of Danube River close to the town of Silistra has increased by 11cm over the last 24 hours reaching 794cm, press centre of the Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River announced. The level of the water close to Ruse is up by 4cm reaching 816cm; in Nikopol  - by 1 cm to 789cm. There is no change reported in the town of Svishtov , while in Novo Selo and Vidin there is 4cm decrease to 782cm and 855cm, respectively. There is 4cm decrease close to Lom , too, as level runs to 8...

Bulgarian company Di Ven SPLTD - Lom, one of the founders of industrial clusters Electromobiles (IKEM), presented the first electric light-duty Bulgarian electromobile during the machine-building exhibition Mach-Tech Expo 2010 in Sofia. The church St. Nikola-Old in the town of Lom ( North-western Bulgaria ) was constructed during the reign of the Bulgarian king Mihail-Asen (1246-1257). It was destroyed several times and then restored by local patriots.
