Thousands of believers gathered at the Troyan Monastery to celebrate Assumption. The third largest monastery in Bulgaria – Troyan monastery – will be brimming over at Easter. Over 7,000 people visit the monastery every year. “This year also we expect many people. They have already started coming,” the monastery abbot bishop Genadiy told Focus – Veliko Tarnovo Radio. On the one hand the people are attracted by an icon of the Virgin Mary, which has a healing effect, and on the other they follow the Easter tradition, lighting a candle and going around the monastery.
