Wind Park Suvorovo is Bulgaria`s second large-scale wind park, again in the Varna region. It is a EUR 82 million project - EUR 60 million of it will come in the form a syndicated loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The Black SeaTrade & Development Bank will provide EUR 22 million for the initiative.

The construction of a large wind power park with a total power of 60 megawatts at the plateau between Suvorovo and Valchidol started. The large-scale investor is the Spanish company EDLIKA. All schools in five municipalities in Varna region are to remain shut on Monday after heavy snowfalls and cold front hit the region. The eastern Bulgarian city of Varna declared a state of emergency in five of its municipalities over the weekend. The districts affected are Byala, Suvorovo, Valchidol and settlements in Aksakovo and Vetrino municipality, the Civil Defense Force has announced.

Some 500 mln euro will be invested in wind farms in northeastern Bulgaria by the end of 2009, said Velizar Kiryakov, chairman of the association of eco energy producers. The local Black Sea Technology Company (BSTC), 99.69%-owned by Italy`s AMGA Azienda Multiservizi S.p.A., said it plans to spend 2.279 mln levs through March 2009 on the rollout of over 20 km of gas mains in the city of Shumen.
The company has already installed 43 km of gas mains in the Shumen municipality, pumping gas to 300 households, 28 industrial enterprises and 80 public and administrative buildings. BSTC said it will start the deployment of gas networks in Kaolinovo, Hitrino, Vetrino, Devnya and Suvorovo by Mar `09.

Svishtov -based cellulose maker Sviloza said it is headed for a 93% increase in sales and gross earnings this year with operating profit seen up three times to 14%.
