A spontaneous protest organized the workers of Terem Khan Krum - Targovishte and closed the road Targovishte - Popovo , near the plant. The protest was because of money - workers insist on fully payment of their salaries. A new eco path from the village of Dolets to the village of Brakanitsa in the region of Turgovishte will be constructed making use of SAPARD funding. The project came to a halt for a period of time but work has started once again. The eco path starts in front of Nezabravka hut and should lead to a Roman fortress. Currently, the eco path has been constructed to the village of Ivancha . Eco path construction is expected to aid the development of rural tourism in the region of Turgovishte .

Shumen region have excellent conditions for the development of hunting tourism. Palarama, Cherni Lom and Popovo hunting stations are among the most active. The construction of a wastewater treatment plants in Shumen and Popovo was started. The corner stone was laid last Monday by the minister of environment and water. Fourteen Bulgarian municipalities are to receive up to BGN 500,000 each for road repairments under the EU regional development operative programme.
