Locality of Pchelina near Razgrad - zone for short-time recreation

The Urban Forest Pchelina is a recreation center located in Razgrad region (Northeastern Bulgaria). It lies about 10 km southwestern direction from Razgrad, among mixed pine tree and birch forest.

The locality is a valley, long 4 km, hilly terrain and two dam lakes. The deciduous trees as well as beautiful meadows predominate. The district is characterized by clear and fresh air, and early spring flowers blossom here.

It`s old name was Kuvanlak, and later it was renamed to Pchelina as it is a very proper place for bee farming (pchela in Bulgarian is bee). The local people call the locality Varnelo, as the road between Ruse and Varna crosses it.

Developing of Pchelina as a zone for short-time recreation begun in the 60s of the past century.
