State terminated the concession contracts of three beaches on the sea - Kranevo-Central, Byala-Karadere and Burgas-North because of non-payment of concession fees. Concessionaire of the first two beaches was Titan Chistota Ltd. and of the third - Ontime Distribution & Logistics Ltd. Titan Chistota has not paid its fees since 2006 as the company owes BGN 1.4 million for the Kranevo-Central beach, and BGN 400,000 for Byala-Karadere.

Varna : Four men have drowned in the Black Sea on 17 Aug. The reports say two Polish holidaymakers are among the dead. Five beaches in Balchik remain without concessionaires during summer 2009 Touzlata, Robinson, Ovcharovski, 7-8-9 and the international child camp in Kranevo remain without owners during summer 2009, news.bg reported. Boards already warn visitors that the beaches lack lifeguards. The regional governance will schedule new tenders featuring lower prices for the five beaches without owners. The starting price for Touzlata is 7262 leva per year. Robinson’s tender price is 3207 leva and Ovcharovski beach will be offered at 2855 leva.

The sea water in the resort village of Kranevo meets all hygiene requirements, representatives of the regional environmental inspectorate in Dobrich said as quoted by Darik Radio. Due to a broken pipe, last week Kranevo’s beach was flooded by purified waters from the water processing station of Albena. The pipe has been replaced. Health inspectors are also monitoring the level of pesticides in water provision areas.
