Bulgaria Kotooshu Suffers Surprising Loss

Bulgarian famous Sumo wrestler Kaloyan Mihailov-Kotooshu made a disappointing start in the renowned Sumo wrestling competition in Nagoya, Japan. Kotooshu suffered a loss in the first round of the competition against the Japanese sumo wrestler Aminishiki Ryuji.

Aminishiki won by applying the "oshidashi" technique pushing the Bulgarian Sumo wrestler outside the limits of the dohio (Sumo ring) without grabbing his sumo belt.

Kotooshu won the Empreror`s Tournament on May, an occurrence that was a very big first for the sumo world, since it was the first time a European born sumo wrestler had won a tournament.

Kotooshu`s goal is to win the Nagoya tournament as well because the victory means that the Bulgarian Sumo wrestler would be the first European to receive the Yokozuna title (Grand Champion).

Kotooshu biggest rivals are the two Mongolian Yokozunas: Hakuho and Asashoryu.

Grand champion Hakuho forced out Komusubi Kisenosato for an opening-day win.

Fellow Mongolian grand champion Asashoryu didn`t fare as well, losing to komusubi Toyonoshima.
