A new ferryboat connection between Bulgarian town of Svishtov and its Romanian neighbour across the Danube River to the north, Zimnicea was started few days ago. The investment is worth about 6 million euro and was made by a Romanian investor. The ferryboat`s capacity includes up to 250 passengers, 12 lorries and 40 cars. The Svishtov -based cellulose-maker Svilosa JSC stops operations due to insufficient timber. We don`t have timber, the supply of raw material for our main production are drastically violated in August and September , said Prof. Michael Kolchev, CEO of Svilosa JSC. Level of Danube River close to the town of Silistra has increased by 11cm over the last 24 hours reaching 794cm, press centre of the Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River announced.
