The Petropavlovski monastery (also known as Lyaskovets monastery), is one of the 14 monasteries built nearby the old capital of Bulgaria, Veliko Turnovo , during the Second Bulgarian State (12-14th century). The monastery, named after St Peter and St Pavel (St. Paul), is one of the best-preserved monasteries from that time, mainly because of its hard-to-reach location. Bulgarian armory Arcus Lyaskovets survives cultivating herbs. They are grown at 200 decares in the village of Mihaltsi . Grown herbs are white yarrow and hyssop, and the extracted essential oils are sold in Germany and France , said Kostadin Edrev, responsible for the herbal business of the armory. Liaskovets municipality envisions the creation of a tourism product that will attract increasing number of visitors, radio Focus-Veliko Turnovo reported. An eco path will be set up, connecting Liaskovets to St. St. Peter and Pavel Monastery. Another project focuses on the construction of a tourism information center. Ladzhov Dvor ethnographic complex will be renovated as part of the project.
