| Bulgaria is losing 2 billion leva (1 billion euros) a year from traffic jams, the Energy Efficiency Agency reported. All citizens of Sofia and other big cities lose at least an hour a day in hellish traffic. If we spent this time at work instead, the GDP would increase by BGN 1.2 billion. To this figure we add the fuel waste, which totals BGN 600 million. We waste 200 tons of gas a day, which harms the environment. Drivers in Sofia do not obey the Law on Traffic and drive their cars in the bus lanes. Thus public transport vehicles waste fuel worth tens of millions. This figure isn’t included in the global loss of BGN 2 billion. |

| After an investment to the amount of BNG 700 thousand and two-year repair works the pool in the town of Plachkovtsi, central Bulgaria, is opening this summer as a rather modern facility, Radio FOCUS – Veliko Tarnovo informs. The municipality had received means under Beautiful Bulgaria project for the reconstruction of the 50-year-old complex with two pools. Having in mind that the conditions provide for only the half of the financing the contribution of the local budget should not be underestimated as well, Mayor Dragomir Nikolov said. This would be the second swimming complex on the territory of the municipality which is confirming its tourist image and capacity. |

| The Bulgarian ant-trust authority has cleared the acquisition of Varna-based supermarket chain Burlex 104 by local peer CBA Asset Management. The two companies signed the relevant agreement in early Feb. The Burlex deal would add 11 outlets to the CBA network in North-eastern Bulgaria, bringing their total to 28. CBA AM comprises subsidiaries in Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse and Gabrovo. It recently entered the Sofia market with a supermarket in the Svoboda residential district. |

| Momina Krepost, the Veliko Tarnovo-based producer of syringes and other medical supplies, will pay shareholders dividend as 5 additional shares each. The shareholders have already oked raising the company capital from 281,000 to 1.69 mln levs using additional reserves.
