Language courses in Romanian for the unemployed in Ruse

The Regional Employment Service in the Northern city of Ruse will start a program of language courses in Romanian for the unemployed in the city.

A total of 245 people will take part in the program teaching the local workers in Romanian as well as English, German, Spanish and Russian. The idea came up after talks with employers in the region who stated that skills at at least one foreign language are necessary.

Ruse is located in Northern Bulgaria on the right bank of the Danube, opposite the Romanian city of Giurgiu. Between the two cities is the only b ridge over the river along the two East European countries` borderline.

Many Romanians are travelling to Ruse, attracted by relatively lower prices of groceries and other products. Residents of Ruse have been going to Romania more frequently since the two countries joined the EU and the necessity of visas was cancelled, drawn by the higher salaries in Romania.
