The rock monastery St. Dimitar Basarbovski is located in Nature Preserve Rusenski Lom ( Ruse District ), some 15 km away from the city of Rousse , in the region of the Basarbovo village . It is the only active men’s rock monastery in Bulgaria. The name of the monastery was first mentioned back in 1431 in a Turkish tax record. This year is a jubilee one for local river tourism. This is the 25th birthday of ‘Ruse` and ‘Sofia` ships which back in 1983 placed the beginning of the river tourism on the Danube River. Currently ‘Dunav Tours` co. posses 5 ships - ‘Ruse`, ‘Sofia`, ‘Ruse - Prestige`, ‘Elegant lady` and ‘Heinrich Heine`.
