For first time Sofia wins in the poll "Best city to live in", organized by Darik Radio, DarikNews.bg and the Bulgarian daily "24 Chasa". In the last two editions the big winner was city of Varna . The Assumption of Holy Mary is one of the churches in the town of Byala (southern part of the Varna district ). The temple is dated back to 1876. The supervisory board of Ruse -based Orgachim JSC has made the decision to close down its subsidiaries in Serbia, Ukraine and Italy with the aim to decrease losses and optimise business. During excavation works in the mediaeval town of Cherven near Ruse , archeologists discovered an unique grave. Because of grave`s small size archeologists believed that it contained the body of an infant. After further research, they found out that a man aged 30 to 35 years was buried there. The ancient town’s gate of Ruse named Kyuntou Capou will be renovated and conserved, Darik Radio reported. The gate was built in the 18th century and has been named a monument of culture. Renovation works involve the dismantlement of the stone works and the removal of a concrete block from the ceiling. The project is worth 46 000 leva provided by Ruse municipality.

Prices of the residential real estate in Bulgaria are down nearly 10% during the second quarter of 2009 compared to the first one. In comparison with the same quarter of 2008 the residential market prices are down 22%. The data was released Thursday by Bulgaria`s National Statistics Institute (NSI).
