Over BGN 25 M have been collected as toll fees for the crossing of "Dunav Most" (Danube Bridge). The bridge is located on the Danube River near Rousee and is a major connector between Bulgaria and Romania. Only a minimal amount of about BGN 34 000 from the BGN 25 M have been invested in the maintenance and improvement of the bridge, according to Nikolay Mladenov - Member the European Parliament. The mayor of Ruse, on the Danube river, has asked the municipal council to approve the allocation of a 34.4 ha site currently partially owned by municipal company Parkstroy for the development of the city`s second industrial park. The proximity of the site to convenient transportation links - the Sofia-Ruse road, and power sources makes it especially attractive to potential investors, said the local government. Ruse`s first industrial park, with an area of 63.7 ha, already accommodates tenants like French auto components maker Montupet and Keros Ceramica, a Spanish maker of ceramic products.

This year is a jubilee one for local river tourism. This is the 25th birthday of ‘Ruse` and ‘Sofia` ships which back in 1983 placed the beginning of the river tourism on the Danube River. Currently ‘Dunav Tours` co. posses 5 ships - ‘Ruse`, ‘Sofia`, ‘Ruse - Prestige`, ‘Elegant lady` and ‘Heinrich Heine`. Representatives from Honeywell Turbo Technologies, part of diversified technology and manufacturing corporation Honeywell Int`l, are sounding out the investment climate in the Bulgarian Danube city of Ruse in connection with plans for a catalyst factory, said the Ruse university. By the end of June First Investment Bank (FIB) will open 8 new branches throughout Bulgaria, announced treasury officials. FIB will go for Yambol, Sozopol, Novi Pazar, and Rousse. In Sofia there will be four new branches – at Hristo Botev Blvd., Patriarh Evtimiy Blvd., Shipchenski Prohod Blvd., and in the Ilientzi neighborhood. Today FIB celebrates 10 years of the branch establishment in Karlovo. The office has over 14 000 clients.

A boy got drowned in a draw-well in the village of Bogomilovo, district of Stara Zagora /South Bulgaria/, the Civil Protection Service. Civil Protection Service teams are now working to take the body out of the draw-well. Investigation on the case is underway.
