German company Verbio will invest EUR 45 million in construction of a plant for biogas in Isperih . The company will ensure 40 direct and 200 indirect new jobs. The idea is the German company to use straw, instead of animal waste fertilizers, because the latter raises the cost of investment. Construction is expected to begin in the end of 2012 and to be completed for a year’s time.

Watson Pharmaceuticals, a US generic drugmaker, has finalized the acquisition of Actavis, which is the biggest producer of medications in Bulgaria. The deal price has been set at EUR 4.25 B. Huvepharma via its subsidiary Biovet ended construction of its new plant for Biotechnologies and pharmaceuticals on its production site in Razgrad . The Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) will fine 11 companies responsible for winter cleaning of national roads to pay more than BGN 424,000, the agency reported. For a sixth consecutive quarter, home prices in Bulgaria staged a decline, shedding an average of 2.3% to BGN 978/sq m between January and March 2010, show the latest numbers of the National Statistical Institute (NSI). The Real estate agencies also recorded a drop but estimates differed from the official figures. Some of them saying housing prices fell by 5% for the same period.
