After an evening of a true torrential downpour on Wednesday, the region of Bulgaria`s northern town of Pleven was hit by a severe hailstorm. The worst-hit district was Dolni Dabnik, where the size of the ice pieces were as big as eggs, local citizens said. The hail fell also over the villages of Pordim and Pisarevo, authorities informed.The heavy rains caused a landslide along the road between the towns of Pleven and Nikopol in the early hours of Thursday. After a whole night of hard work, teams of a private road infrastructure company managed to clear out the section. The traffic in the area has already been normalized.
A 13-year-old boy killed his 9-year-old girl cousin in the Bulgarian village of Pisaravo, near the city of Pleven. On Sunday the two kids were playing together near their home when they started to quarrel and began fighting. The boy then strangled the girl and tried to hide her body in a canal near the village. The girl`s parents later started to search for the missing child and found the body while police quickly found out who was responsible for the murder. The boy confessed to the brutal crime. Investigation continues.
