(DPE) have discovered a gas deposit under the Bulgarian town of Varshets, the Russian Prime-Tass agency broke the news. Tests have shown the presence of promising quantities of gas and natural gas condensate. Apart from Bulgaria, DPE have subsidiaries in Morocco and Russia. After an evening of a true torrential downpour on Wednesday, the region of Bulgaria`s northern town of Pleven was hit by a severe hailstorm. The worst-hit district was Dolni Dabnik, where the size of the ice pieces were as big as eggs, local citizens said. The hail fell also over the villages of Pordim and Pisarevo, authorities informed.The heavy rains caused a landslide along the road between the towns of Pleven and Nikopol in the early hours of Thursday. After a whole night of hard work, teams of a private road infrastructure company managed to clear out the section. The traffic in the area has already been normalized.

A total of two men were severely injured after a gas bottle exploded in their minibus in Bulgaria`s town of Dolni Dabnik late on Thursday. One of the victims suffered 50 % burns and remains in critical condition. doctors said. The accident occurred after one of the passengers got out of the vehicle and lighted a cigarette, which has probably caused the blast. The minibus has almost burned down. The investigation on the case continues.
