A total of two men were severely injured after a gas bottle exploded in their minibus in Bulgaria`s town of Dolni Dabnik late on Thursday. One of the victims suffered 50 % burns and remains in critical condition. doctors said. The accident occurred after one of the passengers got out of the vehicle and lighted a cigarette, which has probably caused the blast. The minibus has almost burned down. The investigation on the case continues. |

| Local company Sofia Estates Development said it will invest 22 mln levs in the construction of a retail center in the city of Pleven, Northern Bulgaria. The construction of the complex, with a build area of over 20,000 sq m, will begin next month with completion scheduled for Oct `09. The 36,000 sq m land plot earmarked for the project is located in one of Pleven`s most densely populated districts, Storgozia. The developer said the center will feature outlets by home improvement retailers as well as a supermarket, quickservice restaurants, pizza parlor and a 450-car parking lot. Rescue teams are still searching a 17-year-old boy, who fell in Iskar River after he tried to drive a tractor in Bulgaria`s village of Stavertsi on Wednesday evening. The youngster, Iliya Assenov, was working together with his elder brothers in a timber company. The accident occurred after the bigger boys left the cutting area, leaving the victim alone. The boy was moving on a dike until reaching the river`s bed, where the machine heeled over and started sinking. The tractor was found more than a meter under the water surface but its pulling out was impeded by the strong stream. |
