Politics: Milk producers threaten to walk to Sofia together with animals Village of Zlatna Panega >> Wednesday, 2008-01-23 10:36 Source: Focus Agency Milk producers from the regions of Ruse and Targovishte will unite their protests in the town of Byala, while the farmers from the regions of Pleven and Lovech will join their protests in the village of Obnova, Adrian Tsakovski with the National Association of Milk Producers in Bulgaria told Focus News Agency. After the latest protests outside the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Supply on January 16th, Minister Nihat Kabil announced that BGN 21 million had been allotted to assist farmers under the EU’s de minimis regulation. According to Tsakovski the procedure of applying for funding would take too much time. “Next week most probably we will walk to Sofia together with our animals,” he said.
