Zona For Home, the local furniture retailer, said it has opened an outlet in Burgas, on the Black Sea. The two-level Burgas store is the company`s third overall and first on Bulgaria`s Black Sea coast. More than 1,000 pieces of furniture are on display on an area of 5,000 sq m. The store will be open 24/7. The other two Zona For Home stores are located in Sofia and Sevlievo.
The project for an industrial zone in the city of Pleven, Northern Bulgaria, has been postponed indefinitely due to the suspension of Phare funding, said a municipal official. The city was expecting to get some 6 mln levs in aid under the program to finance the necessary preparations and monitoring. With the Phare option now off the table, the municipality will have to develop the 12.7 ha site on its own in the face of rising area demand for industrial space.

Administrative buildings and production facilities will switch to natural gas first to be followed by household customers later.
