The project for an industrial zone in the city of Pleven, Northern Bulgaria, has been postponed indefinitely due to the suspension of Phare funding, said a municipal official. The city was expecting to get some 6 mln levs in aid under the program to finance the necessary preparations and monitoring. With the Phare option now off the table, the municipality will have to develop the 12.7 ha site on its own in the face of rising area demand for industrial space.
