Over 115 charter and 20 regular routes will be available this summer from the Varna airport , on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, said Andreas Helfer, executive director of Fraport Twin Star Management, the outfit operating the Varna and Burgas airports under a concession arrangement. The traffic of the international trains at Kulata -Promahon border checkpoint was ceased because of the strike staged by the Greek railway personnel, Stoyan Milev, head of Kulata railway station. So far no lines of trains have formed. The passengers will be transported by cars to avoid any problems. The strike will go on until Thursday, according to the initial information.

Pazardzhik new interurban bus station will take an 8,000 sq. m site, new urban plan is under preparation for the zone between Bolnichna str. and Stefan Stambolov blvd. The design of the new facility will be BGN 12,000, its construction will amount to BGN 5m, the local administration will apply for the funding before the European Union funds. The site is located near the town ring road and thus the buses will not have to cross the central zone. The station will be the medium type for this type of facility, with a two-level office building. The long-term transport scheme of the town will be done on the grounds of the BGN 45,000 worth scheme for new traffic organization in Pazardzhik.

Aer Lingus has announced plans to begin new service from Dublin to Bourgas in Bulgaria later this year. Two weekly flights to destination will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays from mid-June. The flights will be the only scheduled service to Bulgaria from Ireland.
