Traffic jam has started to block the Trakia highway on Monday as thousands of people are returning to Sofia after the Easter holidays. Police warned that rain in the regions of Plovdiv and Pazardzhik is further aggravating the situation and plead with motorists to drive safe. On Saturday, huge traffic jams blocked Bulgaria`s motorways with a 12 km long line of cars appearing on the Hemus highway in northern direction. Currently the traffic on Hemus is normal but police expect traffic jams there in the afternoon.

Nine new Czech buses Tedom C12 G will be on the front line for Sofia citizens from Monday (21.04.08). The total value of the buses is 1.755 million euro (each of them costs 195 000 euro). The buses use methane as a fuel and cover the Euro 5 standard. This public transport vehicles are the first of their class to be used in Bulgaria, said Deputy Mayor Velizar Stoyanov. They can accommodate 87 passengers. Tedom C12 G will join the bus line number nine and will be exploited in the next eight years.
